Fair review of concerns

Complaints and Appeals Policy

IJP considers reasoned appeals about editorial decisions and complaints about journal processes, conduct, policy application, or published content.

Editorial appeals

An appeal should identify the manuscript, specify the decision being challenged, and explain a substantial factual, procedural, ethical, or scholarly concern. Disagreement with reviewer opinion alone is not normally sufficient.

Appeals should be submitted promptly to info@ijp.international-journal.org. The journal may ask for a concise response to each disputed point. Where practicable, an editor who was not materially involved in the original decision will assess the appeal.

Complaints

A complaint should describe the issue, relevant dates, people or records, steps already taken, and the outcome sought. Anonymous information may be considered, but anonymity can limit the journal's ability to investigate or respond.

Assessment

The journal will acknowledge the concern, identify an appropriate reviewer, gather relevant information, and communicate an outcome when possible. Confidentiality will be respected, but information may need to be shared with individuals or institutions directly involved in a fair assessment.

Good-faith participation

Appeals and complaints must be made respectfully and in good faith. Threats, harassment, repeated abusive messages, or attempts to influence a decision through pressure may lead to communication limits without preventing consideration of a legitimate scholarly concern.
